Falcataria Programme: Bridging Nature and Technology in My Journey

Growing up amidst the serene countryside with its refreshing air and cool weather, I observed that many of the communities in my village earned their livelihood as wood farmers, supporting various aspects of their daily lives.

After completing high school, I embarked on a journey of higher education, pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta. As a member of Generation Z, I was inherently drawn to the fascinating world of technology. This interest gradually led me into the realm of manufacturing, where I perceived significant technological advancements compared to other industries.

Post-graduation, the prospect of joining the Falcataria Management Trainee (MT) program at PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk (DSNG) was presented to me. Initially, I hesitated, holding preconceptions about the wood industry being outdated, environmentally detrimental, and lacking technological sophistication.

However, my perspective underwent a transformative shift after engaging with the DSNG team. Their explanations ignited my curiosity, unraveling the intriguing interplay between an extractive industry and nature. I learned that technology played a pivotal role in achieving harmony.

Joining the Falcataria program became a revelation, addressing my curiosity about technology in the manufacturing industry. DSNG’s commitment to sustainability, particularly in monitoring the wood supply chain, was commendable. Technology seamlessly integrated into every step, from raw materials to the final export-ready product, providing me with comprehensive insights through end-to-end learning.

Furthermore, DSNG’s Community Forest Partner program not only sourced wood responsibly but also empowered local farmers. This dispelled my previous misconception about illegal logging. The Community Forest Partner farmers demonstrated a sustainable approach by planting and harvesting trees only from designated areas before selling them to the company.

I can join various personal development training, including leadership skills, communication skills, work-life balance, and other essential hard skills. In this labor-intensive industry, I engaged and collaborated with diverse individuals, honing my social skills—an invaluable asset for future leadership. I gleaned insights into work motivation, ethics, and the significance of wholehearted commitment.

In addition, my curiosity about the technology found satisfaction as I delved into Production Planning and Inventory Control (PPIC). Collaborating with the team, we developed the Auto Order Control (AOC) program for production planning and real-time process control. This experience further sharpened my leadership and communication skills to meet set targets.

At DSNG, I feel empowered to explore and develop my interests and talents, guided by experts with extraordinary experience. Contrary to labeling wood companies as outdated, DSNG stands far from that stereotype.

For those embarking on their career journey, DSNG offers continuous opportunities to develop talents through technology-based innovations, particularly the “Autonomous Factory” concept—an embodiment of automation in DSNG’s wood business.

In conclusion, there’s no room for stagnation here, and I encourage you not to hesitate in building your career with us!
