Community Engagement

DSN Group prioritizes community engagement and uphold the principle of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) in our operations. Our participatory social and environmental impact assessments, integrated into our Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) documents, ensure that communities’ voices are heard and respected.

Our CSR Function adopts a participatory and consultative approach to manage social impacts, implementing community livelihood and empowerment programs that focus on health, business opportunities, and support for vulnerable groups and low-income families. We emphasize FPIC in our interactions with communities to guarantee their right to participate in decision-making processes that affect them. In 2021, we conducted a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) as part of our annually updated Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) to map our impact on communities and identify their needs. The SIA findings inform our sustainable, empowering, and self-reliance-promoting community development programs. We continuously communicate with communities about our FPIC Protocol, NDPE Policy, Human Rights & Employment, CSR Program Evaluation & Preparation, Code of Ethics, grievance mechanism, and accessible documents to enhance our social and environmental responsibility performance.
