Women Empowerment
Along with community empowerment activities, DSN Group pays special attention to empowering women in 9 villages around DSNG’s plantation area and palm oil mill in Muara Wahau Area, East Kalimantan. Community economic empowerment is carried out through business opportunities that support the Company’s operations, such as providing transportation services, building contractors, and managing cooperatives and Credit Unions (CU) for independent smallholders. This also directly provides access to empowerment for women in the village.
In addition, in creating a healthy, safe, and comfortable environment for all employees and their families, especially for women and children in the Company’s operational areas, since 2021 DSN Group has formed Women’s Committees in all subsidiaries. The Women’s Committee was established with the aim of guaranteeing and providing protection for women in the workplace and children around DSNG’s operational areas. Women’s Committees are also in charge of preventing acts of violence and harassment against women and children, as well as receiving and handling complaints of violence and harassment against women and children.
